"..won’t satisfy everyone’s tastes and wants. It is too small to do that and too smart to try." Boston Globe

Last day to register for TEDxSomerville!

For those of you who don’t know, TED is a nonprofit devoted to “Ideas Worth Spreading”. It started out as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design.  27 years after its inception, there are 2 annual conferences as well as a global conference; more than 1100 TED Talks are available online; and a number of subsidiary events and conferences.

Back in November, Hotel Veritas was a sponsor of TedxCambridge and were proud to host four speakers.  I personally attended the conference, and it was a pretty profound experience. Each talk was better than the next, and I applied a lot of what I learned to my everyday life. Even more poignant though, was the opportunity for so many interested and interesting people to come together. The after party at The Armory was full of energy, and I can assure you no one bothered discussing the weather.

What:  TEDxSomerville: Creative Economy, Sustainable Community
When:  March 4, 2012  8:30am to 6:30pm
Where:  The Armory, 191 Highland Avenue Somerville, MA
Cost:  $40
Afterparty:  Saloon, 255 Elm Street, Somerville, MA 7:00pm-

At a TEDx event you can expect talks ranging from 3 to 18 minutes as well as some performing artists. There are no keynotes, breakout sessions, panels nor Q&A after the talks. There are breaks throughout the day where you can discuss the topics directly with the speakers as well as your fellow attendees.
